If the system response is bad,  try,

top    or

ps aux | less

	and check for run away processes.  To kill your own process,

kill -9 process-ID-number

	To reboot a system,  try  Alt-Ctrl-F1,  then followed by Alt-Ctrl-Del.

	Please remember that by rebooting the network server, grad,  you will
kill the remote users  who are logged in to the system.  Any running batch jobs
will die too.
